I have an access front end which I distribute to users in a corporate
environment, and they put it on their local desktop. It's a .mdb file with
links to another .mdb back end, which is on a network drive.
To implement security I've created a workgroup with some simple groups in
it, and I've joined that workgroup. But, before others join the workgroup,
the database appears to be unsecured. Anyone with MS Access on their
machine can get into the database. Any new Access installs can have full
access to the database before they join the workgroup.
This seems blatantly unsecure. Any suggestions? Maybe a special network
folder that limits people's rights to it?
