We recently setup two XP computers in our small office.
We have a workgroup called surgery. I set the XP PCs to
be a member of the workgroup. My older Windows98 PCs in
the surgury workgroup can see the XP computer but the XP
computers cannot see the Windows98 PCs!! My printer is
on the W98 PC and I need to XP PC to print to it. Any
help??? Thanks so very much.

right click my computer > select properties > computer name
tab
network id button follow the steps to join to workgroup
name SURGERY .

also to share files start > settings > control panel >
folder options > view tab click on simple fil sharing

for printer identify it as network printer follow add
printer wizard

You don't need to see the machine on the browse list to
print to it. If you add printer and use \\(windows 98
machine)\\(name of printer share) you can print to it. The
browse window not advertizing to the win xp machines is a
property setting in network file sharing properties. It
needs to be browse master and announce both set to on and
not automatic. It will take sometimes 15 minutes to show
up.
