workbook references

I have a folder containing various Excel files that are
linked to one another. I recently had to move the entire
folder to another location. In the individual files, some
of the workbook path references updated correctly, yet
some did not.

If I have to move the folder again, I'd like to know how
to either:
1) get all the references to update correctly the first
time
2) correct the references myself in one motion without
having to open numerous individual files to perform
Replace.

One easy (depending on the number of WBs involved) way, is to make sure
*all* the linked files are open when the "move" takes place.

That's a good idea, but unfortunately there are too many
workbooks involved.
...

Then you have an unworkable design.

If these different directories are all on networked drives, consider mapping
them to a drive letter, e.g., net use \\someserver\some\path X: . Then open the
files from X:\. Move the files and change the drive mapping.

If that's not practical, then there is *NO* alternative to opening *EACH* file
and changing the directory references.
