ok - I think there's a workaround. In another Posting
from 'Steve B' he's writing that he has a very slow
network performance, when settings the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\
Parameters\Tcp1323Opts
to "0". Doimg the same on the non-working machine solved
the problem for me although I hadnt the performance issues
Steve stated. Additionally I donnt know what the 'TCP
Extensions for High Performance' have to do with TCP
connections over a gateway

Anyway it seems like a flaw in the TCP Stack provided by
Win2kSP4...
