My professor gives lectures in powerpoint, i copy (and add notes) during
class. After class she posts her powerpoint slides so we can view them if we
missed something. I would like to be able to view her slides and mine, so i
can add what i missed. I thought at one time i was able to open both (in
separate "windows") and see them side by side and edit.. but i can't ... any
help on how i can do this.. i don't want to merge them just see them side by
side so i can edit! Thanks!

Open the two presentations, then click Window > Arrange All. That should do it.

Merging multiple presentations on PowerPoint 2007 has changed. Where is the
insert slide command?

Home | New Slide (click the bottom half of the button) | Reuse Slides.
