I tried to search for a word processor which can make horizontal lines to
coordinate columns and rows such that row contents can be coordinated accross
the document page. I found nothing so far. Does anyone know of a freeware or
shareware type that can do this?

Example:

Horizontal
Line..........................................................................

Number 1 Description for number 1 results of number 1

Horizontal
Line..........................................................................

Number 2 Description of number 2 results of number 2
continued description of 2

Horizontal
Line......................................................................
............

**********************end of example*******************************************

Further, the program should be able to make vertical line separators for
columns, in which Number X, Descrptions, and Results all each go in a column.

Anyone know of such a word processor?

I believe it's called a spreadsheet. Is there a reason oneof those
would not suffice??

How does this differ from a word processor that allows you to create and
format a table? (which, any more, is pretty much all of them) Have you
looked at OpenOffice/StarOffice?

Maybe you have a point; spreadsheet might do it, but that tends to restric how
the cells work. Spreadsheet doesn't let the option of turning certain text to
bold type in the same cell while leaving the rest within that cell in regular
type. Pagination is not as precise. Still, you make a good point. I would
still need to have the same format throughout the pages of the document.

I think OOo will do what you need. Another interesting program to try would
be FormTool.
