any extra software - such as all the office suite - I
just want to be able to use word !!!

Secondly - can i imoprt an address book's FORMAT to
another user on my computer - just spent AGES getting
email address bk looking neat and tidy - exported it to
another user profile and now its all messy again in the

You can certainly buy Word on its own

You can buy WORD as a stand-alone product for about (search
for best price at www.pricewatch.com ) but the least
expensive way to get WORD is to buy the WORKS SUITE which
includes WORD along with the rest of WORKS. You can buy a
standard WORKS but that doesn't include WORD.
If you are a student or teacher you can buy the OFFICE
student/teacher version for about $150 (less if there is a
special sale at the store).

The export uses the data and puts it in the form that is
default for the user.

how...try reading some searches you should do right here in the newsgroups
regarding the addresses....

Greetings --

Have you purchased and installed a word processing application?
WinXP is an operating system, so it only includes the rudimentary text
editors, NotePad and WordPad, both of which can be found under Start >
All Programs > Accessories.

Neither the Microsoft Office application suite, nor any of its
individual component applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook, etc.), have _ever_ been "part" of *any* Windows operating
system. They are, and always have been, separate applications, that
must be purchased and installed separately.
