I am currently enrolled in school online. The problem is that I just
installed the mirosoft word 97 program. But when I try upload it to my class
site. I get error msg. "us must used .doc for us to review." I tryed change
it but to no avail I still get this error msg. and the document has .docx.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong.
 
docx is the standard document format for Word 2007 not Word 97? I am not
even sure that the compatibilty pack works with Word 97, so my guess is that
you have Word 2007? In which case use Save As to save in Word 97-2003 (doc)
format rather than the default Word 2007 format.

As the others have mentioned, if Word is producing .docx files, what you
have is Word 2007, not 97. Instead of just clicking Save, use Office Button
| Save As and, in the Save As dialog, click the arrow beside the file type
to choose "Word 97-2003 Document," which will save in the old .doc format.
If you will be using Word primarily to create class assignments to be sent
in this way, you may want to change the default file type; do this on the
Save tab of Office Button | Word Options.
