Karen

Am I able to access word using my current Windows XP Home
Edition, or would I have to purchase the Microsoft Word
software? Please let me know, because I am unable to
attach documents to an email. I really need help
here!!! thank you for your support.

it MIGHT be here
start->all program->microsoft works->word.

if not you should obtain ms 'office' or ms 'works' suite.
find at computer store and compare before buying.
'works' will probably be cheaper then 'office'

Word is not now nor has it every been a part of the Windows operating
system. It is a separate application that must be purchased separately
though many system manufacturer's include it as a part of the software
bundle they include with their systems. This is at their option.

As to the problem of attaching documents to an e-mail, assuming you are
using Outlook Express, go to Tools, select Options, go to the Security tab
and try removing the check from "Do not allow attachments to be saved or
opened that could potentially be a virus," click apply and ok.
