I have installed word, powerpoint, excel etc from a disk
all but word and binder work. These give msg. This
application must be installed to run. run setup from
location where it was originally installed. I reinstalled
rebooted but to no avail

Assuming that you mean from a genuine MS OFFICE install CD,
did you buy this new from a store or was it a gift from
someone who had already installed WORD and activated it on
their computer?
