When I start a new document. I type along all the way
down the page to a 1 inch bottom margin. When I print the
last 2 inches of type is missing. If you do a print
preview it does not show. But when you are in normal view
it shows up. What is up with that?

I start a new document not having any columns and the
column setting is 1.5 and you can not change it. The
previous document did not use columns. Explain how the
column was changed?

Normal view is not WYSIWYG - it won't accurately reflect what
the printer is going to give you. In this case, I'd say your
printer doesn't support a 1" bottom margin, but the printer
driver isn't telling Word this. This is a common problem with
inkjet printers, especially HP.

You also want to check that the header/footer heights are
smaller than the margin, and that there aren't any "boxes" in
them that might be hiding the text.

No idea what you're talking about, here. Explain what version
of Word you're using, how you started a new document and what
kind of column you're talking about?
