I've had a problem with 2 documents that I've been working on in Word XP. I don't seem to have any problem with any other word documents. Sometimes I try to open the document and it freezes. I restart, try to open again and it might come up with the recovery pane and an error message that this document cased a serious error. I've managed to open it and save it, reformatted and saved again and again. It continues to bring up these errors whne and if it finally opens. I've renamed the documents, saved from the computer hard drive to the server. I tried copying the contents and excluding the last paragraph mark, but it won't copy or save at that point.

I am not an expert but I just read an article
on the O'Reilly site (I believe) where the writer
solved a problem similar to yours by opening his
doc in OpenOffice.

May be worth a shot if you know someone
that has it installed (or you do not get any other
responses).

Good luck,

Ask in a Word newsgroup.
