Word XP as OL'03 Mail Editor

Is there a way to use Word XP as the Mail Editor for OL2003? We originally
had Office XP and upgraded to OL2003 when our new server came in (it came
with 5 installs of OL03).

The option "Use MS Office Word 2003 to edit email messages" is greyed out in
Options > Mail Format. Also, while we do have all spell-correct options
checked under the spelling tab, our spell-correct feature doesn't work.

Any suggestions?
