word wrap in tables

Hi,

We are trying to redo our website ourselves by using
Frontpage but when we put the text into a table it doesn't
wrap around and part of the words disappear. We are not
sure what we are doing wrong.

Also, on the Main Menu, we can't get the bottom border on
the last entry, "About Us," to have a line.

In each case, we are not sure what we are doing wrong.

If anyone would like to personally see the problem, we
have uploaded this page to:

http://www.limpetsaddlepad.com/testpage1.htm

We looked at several templates that Frontpage offers and
they would be much simpler and fine, except that they have
frames and our website can't have frames.

Maybe we can't get this to work in Frontpage without using
frames, in which case, we may be out of luck.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Stephen

on the table, right click it and select "table properties", then give it
some cell padding maybe 3 or 4 and see if that helps.

Stephen -

You might want to try setting your table width to something less than
100%, which is where it's set now.

Stephen,

You have a lot of problems with your tables.

When working with tables, the total width of the cells can not exceed the
width of the table. Nested table can not be greater than 100% of the cell it
is inserted into

You have a table that is set 755 pixels.

First cell/row set to 755 pixels wide with a nested a table set to 104%.

In the next cell/row you have the cell set to 755 pixels wide.

In the next cell/row you have 2 columns/cells, left cell set to 23% and the
right cell set to 75% doesn't equal 100%

Table set to 106%

In the cell/row you have 4 columns/cells, left cell set to 1%, next 21%,
next 1%, next 75%, next 7%, equals 105%

Last cell/row "Copyright" 101% width.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

The cell padding did work but we had to put the padding up
to 20? Does this sound unusual? Do you think we might be
doing something wrong?

Our concern is that we are going to use this page for
several other pages and if we are doing something wrong,
we'd like to get it solved now.

Thanks again for your help.

if you had to add 20 px then you've got something wrong with your table,
your table and some absolute positioning, If you're looking to make a
template then my suggestion, coupled by the amount you had to add means you
definitely should fix it right.

Hi,

Thanks again for your help.

We agree that it has to be fixed but since we don't know
what we're doing wrong, it appears that we are in trouble
and probably have to get a pro to do it. But the pro we
used before doesn't like Frontpage. I was hoping to learn
enough so that I can maintain the pages once they are done
but maybe that won't work out either.

If you can't guess what might be wrong then apparently it
isn't something obvious and we're not likely to figure it
out ourselves.

Thanks again for your help.

Did you see my reply to your original post, repeated below:
