Word wrap in Hover Buttons

I am building my first set of web pages using Front Page
2000, with server extensions turned off (I shall be using
Rootsweb Freepages and this has to be!)

I'm using a 2 column layout, with the left hand column the
narrower one. I've created Hover Buttons in this column
but am unable to wrap text (my section names are rather
long).

I have tried adjusting the width and/or depth of the
buttons but still can't get the text to wrap. All it
does is push the width of my narrow column out to the
width of the longest section name.

Your advice on how to overcome this (or indeed on any
other way to create good looking links in this situation)
would be VERY welcome.

Many thanks

Maureen

I am not aware of any way to force text wrapping with hover buttons.

Perhaps the best alternative might be to create graphic buttons where you
can control the text on the button. You could use a Javascript mouseover
script if you wanted to create some kind of visual effect on the button when
someone mouse's over the button(s). This would also be better with regard
to accessibility, as you would be able to add ALT text to the graphic
buttons too and people that surf without JAVA won't be hindered by not
seeing the JAVA applet hover button.

Because hover buttons are java applets (not java script) they are no longer
recommended because some browsers do not recognize them... Best to use
something else.
