I created a list consisting of 371 entries. The list is evenly spaced except
for 2 entries. If you highlight either entry, an empty space appears empty
highlighted space also appears below the line. I've encountered this problem
before, but I don't recalled asking anyone how to avoid or fix the problem.
Line spacing in Paragraph options is grayed out.

I'm running Windows XP Home with Small Office XP. Thanks!!!

billybob,

It sounds like you may have paragraph spacing before or after applied to the
affected text. Highlight the text and see if Format>Paragraph>Spacing
Before or After matches the other text.

Greg, I'll check again, but I checked that before posting and I didn't see
anything different in Format/Paragraph/Spacing. I'll come back either way.

If you don't have nonprinting characters displayed, display them (Ctrl+* or
click on the Show/Hide ¶ button) so that you can see if you have empty
paragraphs (¶) or line breaks between the list items.

Thanks for guiding to the Format area again. I was trying to fix the
problem with the Line Spacing. No go! But,....to the left of the page, I
saw that the Spacing Before and After option contained "Auto" as entries. I
replaced that with "0s" and the problem was corrected. Many kudos, Greg.
That's exactly how you got to be an MVP, huh?

Thank You!

Thank you so much, Suzanne! I'm in my 70's now and I've barely scratched
the surface of Word xp, but I'd sure like another 20 years or so to try. I
imagine that by that time, though, they will have done 20 more new updates
and versions. Oh my!

It's so nice to have those faithful like you and Greg to depend on! <S>

Very best regards,
Bill
