I have a recurring problem where random tables I've
embedded from Word get cropped vertically - generally they
get moved down and the bottom part is cropped off. It is
fixed by using the Crop tool, but it is really annoying.
I can't find a bug report in the Knowledge Base on this.
Anyone know what causes this so I can attempt to avoid it?

thanks,
julie

It happens randomly. I might edit a table, go a few
slides later, come back and it's cropped.

I heard a rumor that it happens if you have the table
selected and save (or auto-save) the document, but I've
had entire presentations where half of the tables are
cropped.

I always edit the table in the way you suggested... So I
don't know what could be causing this.

Thanks for your help, though!

Does this happen after you open the Word table, or when you save and
reopen the PPT file or just at random or what?

You might try right-clicking the Word table and using the Edit option to
open the table instead of double-clicking to open. Sometimes that helps.

Hm.

You might check the size of the embedded tables by right-clicking and
going to Format/Object. Check the Size tab. Is the size proportionate?
Sometimes if the table's been resized by dragging the edges in PPT (with
the white box handles), it gets out of whack. I used to have better luck
if I'd resize the table while it was activated (by dragging on the
herringboned edges).

Also, while the table is activated, turn on Word's "show/hide markers"
so you can see the paragraph markers. If you have estraneous ones at the
bottom of your table, delete all of them.
