Hi,
I've got a long document with a lot of arrows inside (the ones which
comes with the symbol font). I've found a new characters set which has
the double arrows used in chemistry and I'd like to automatically
replace the old arrows with these ones.
Unfortunately it's impossible to copy and paste the old arrows in the
dialog box for word and character replacement, neither in the automatic
correction one. I've tried to use alt+code but even this attempt
failed.
Is there any way to do this kind of job?
Does anyone now if it will take too much time to go throught a .doc
file manually and write a perl script that replaces the arrows?

Thank you,
Elena

ps. sorry for my poor English, hope that it is at least
understandable...

Sometimes pasting works (even though the character may not be represented
correctly in the dialog), and you can use ^c in the "Replace with" box for
the Clipboard contents. See also

Unfortunately mine is not the copy and paste lucky situation.
But the macros are perfect, as soon as I put my hands on that document
I'll try to use them.

Thank you very much!
(my google search didn't reach those faqs...I'm getting older :) )
