I have a word document that is on a shared network drive.
It is an older Template with old properties, so I right-
click and go to Properties and then Summary and change the
information there. I click Apply and life is good.
However, when I reboot, or when someone else views it, the
old properties are still there. Any ideas?

Did you open the template using File>Open, or did you create a document from
it using File>New? Did you save it after making the change?

I'm running Word 2000 under Windows ME on a PII PC. When I close Word, I
get the message "Winword has caused an error in WINWORD.EXE. Winword will
now close." One or twice I've also had a preliminary message saying that
"changes have been made that affect the global template, Normal.dot. Do you
want to save these changes?" To this I've always answered "no".

Word appears to run perfectly normally; it's only when I close it that this
all occurs. It's been happening for two or three days now, and nothing was
done to the computer or any other software which might have prompted it.

Should I remove Word completely from the PC and reinstall it? If I do that,
is there any way of preserving all my settings, macros and so on? Or is
there some other solution?

Many thanks in advance.
