If this is not the place to ask this, please point me in the right
direction.

Using WORD 97 (yes, I know), it won't show me all the folders available,
even though I've asked to see "all files". I start with "FILE" and
"OPEN", then select the "C" drive and so forth. I get to "My Documents"
and it doesn't list all the folders within My Documents. So there are
many files there that are not accessible. I don't get it!
Thanks for any help.

We assume your WORD is not configured first to display
only files of one filetype (e.g. DOC or RTF.)

1. Search in the MS newsgroups for "office" because
that nowadays includs MSWORD (part of an office suite.)
There may be a legacy NG for Word97.
2. Your problem might well be solved by one of the
many patches or upgrades to Word97. (I do not like Office
2000 or whatever my wife's office required, but collected
about a dozen of these, used when putting her old software
onto a new PC.) Word users probably familiar with your
problem.
