Wrong newsgroup
Try posting this in the Microsoft word newsgroup along with details of which
version of word and your o/s. From previous posts I suggest you do a format
and reinstall of your o/s

What is it with you, don v! Your every answer is to re-
install the opsys. your advice stinks.

You have so many problems that I guess your best bet is to reinstall--but it
looks as even that seems to be giving you and your other aliases lots of
problems.

Don;
Just what is it that seems to make you think that so many different
posters are the same individual?

Rich;

You can try this:
Make sure Word is closed.
Do a search for Normal.dot.
Delete Normal.dot.
Normal.dot will be recreated when you open Word.
For some reason Normal.dot gets corrupted.
==========

Open Word | Help | Click the V to expand the menu |
Detect and Repair
==========

From Word HELP:
[[Automatically repair Office programs
Caution Choosing this option will discard many of your customized settings
and restore default settings. For instance, the following will be set back
to the state they appeared when you first installed Office:

The Assistant character selection
Most-recently-used entries on the File menu will be removed
The size of the application window for all applications
Menu and toolbar position and any customizations
Customizations and additions to Office Shortcut Bar
The security level for each application
View settings within the application, such as the Calendar view in Outlook
Your User Name and Initials will also need to re-entered when you restart
your Office applications.

On the Help menu, click Detect and Repair.
To restore the program shortcuts to the Windows Start menu, make sure the
Restore my shortcuts while repairing check box is selected.

Click Start.
Notes
This feature is not available for Office applications earlier than Office
2000.
This procedure detects and repairs problems such as missing files and
registry settings associated with all installed Microsoft Office programs.
It will not repair personal files, such as spreadsheets or documents.
If the Detect and Repair command does not fix the problem, you might need to
reinstall Microsoft Office.]]

Someone pointed out in another newsgroup that the headers of a large number
of posts all come from the same individual -and so do some of the replies to
the same message

Kind of dumb aren't you?

Don;
The specific headers you refer are for people who use the web
interface instead of a news reader.
That probably fits about half the posters.
There is no way at all to identify from the headers if it is the same
person since all CDO users show the same in the headers.
