Have you applied the latest Service Pack for WordPerfect? Tried running in
Compatibility mode? Have you checked Corels website to find out about
compatibility with Windows Vista? WordPerfect 13 required a Service Pack
update to enable compatibility with Vista.

Yes, Buy Wordperfect X4, and if you want really cheap, try the free Open
Office 3..

Hi Alan,

Check the information for v10 available here:
http://www.wpuniverse.com/vb/showthread.php?postid=32619#post32619

General information is found at the page top and between
the entries for v10 and v11.

Apply any and all relevant patches.

v10 is not supported under Vista.
Some people have it running OK.

There have been some discussions at
http://www.wpuniverse.com/
You need to register, but it's free.
Then you can search for: vista

Microsoft office 2007 costs money

A new version of WordPerfect costs money.

Oo is a good choice (I don't know the IBM/Lotus package), but unfortunately
the developers resisted the temptation to produce something completely
different, so it feels just like the dreadful M$ product.

Of course, Oo documents (unlike MS office) are coded in the standard XML
format, but you can't see the markups while you're typing. This was the
great strength of WordPerfect, which fell out of favour because for some
strange reason it became incompatible with the version of Windows that was
extant at the relevant time.

It's time users had the right to use their software without paying more
money each time computer vendors are obliged to offer a new OS that is even
less reliable and user-friendly than the previous one.

Hi,

I have WordPefect 10 installed from WordPerfect Office 2002 on my Vista 64
SP2 machine. It seems to be OK, but I have not used it much. I just have
it installed in case I need to open an old file.

I have one tip that often helps older programs run in Vista. Just one time,
right click the program icon and choose "Run as Administrator..." This
allows the program to set up registry keys, etc., that it can't otherwise,
and that often lets the program run successfully from then on. I can't
guarantee it will work for you in this case, but it's worth a try.

And thanks to Terry R. for the link that leads to the WordPerfect SP
downloads.

Why not MSOffice2007?

WordPerfect is junk, come on. Why don't you install Gopher & Borland C if
you install WordPefect it soure sounds like 1992 again.
