Hi

I use Word 2000. It is taking AGES to open a document if
that has a check box in it. I have inserted that check
box using the control toolbar.

Whereas if I open that document in some other system, it
is getting opened instantly. I dont know what went wrong
in my system. Could you help me to solve this?

One point I would like to make clear is, I dont face
problem with all the documents, BUT only with the
documents that have CHECK boxes in it.

I've also checked the macro security settings. It's only
low. Anyway I dont think security has anything to do with
this. I think it is meant for macros. I didn't use any
macros, whereas I've only inserted a control from the
control box in my document.

I've also tried deleting the normal.dot. Also, I've tried
reinstalling the Word. The problem remains same.

Could you help me to solve this?

Hi Srikanth,

Controls from the Control Toolbox DO activate anti-virus
checking because they contain a VBA stub, even if you don't
write any VBA for them. They're ActiveX controls...

If you have security in Word set to "low" you probably have
anti-virus software that's doing some checking before you
open documents? And that may be what's slowing things down.
