Browsing this newsgroup, I pick up little gems of productivity. Today I
added a macro to my normal.dot and saved it. It works peachily.

However, now when I launch Word from my Office Shortcut bar, it starts up in
Visual Basic view. I used to get a blank document, as expected. If I
right-click the Word button on the Office shortcut bar and select Open, it
gives me a blank document. I opened up Normal.dot again re-saved it and Word
still starts up in VB.

Why did it start doing this? I looked through the FAQ and didn't see
anything relevant.

Thanks,

Bill Le May

Hi Bill,

Can't recall ever hearing anything like this, before. I certainly have never
seen it, myself... You unfortunately don't mention which version of Word is
involved, here.

1. While playing around, did you create any macros named AutoExec?

2. If you hold down SHIFT when starting Word does the problem still occur?

3. How about starting Word in SAFE MODE?
