word menu bars

Can anyone help me? I have lost my menu and tool bar and don't seem to be able to get it back. Therefore it is very difficult to type documents etc and make changes with these. have been trying to use control button and the keyboard but is very frustrating.
 
Chris, you should post this question to a Word-related NG, such as
