Word - inserting a hard space

You should be able to insert a "non-breaking" space either
by Control-Shift-Space or by using the insert symbol menu,
selecting the "Special Characters" tab and selecting "non-
breaking space".
 
Thank you Susan; also, in other applications, such as PageMaker, a control space is "easy" - WHY is it SO HARD, or UNABLE to "do" in Word?
 
I do not see the message to which you are replying, but if you're asking
about a nonbreaking space, there's nothing hard about it:
Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar.
