Word file opener via filemanager

I cannot open a Word file via my filemaneger anymore. If I click on a .doc file then MSWord starts but without opening the file. I can only open the file within Word with Ctrl-O.
I can open other files with filemanager OK (eg. .ppt). Who can help me with this problem (bug?)?

It's not a bug. Your file associations for *.doc files has been broken
by something. Reset *.doc files to be opened in Word. Read details for
how to do this by searching windows "help" for "file association".
