I just put Windows XP Home Edition on my computer, but I
cant find word, excel or any other program.. Any
suggestions?

Hi, Thats because none of those programs have never been part of Windows.
Microsoft Office includes them, but Windows will never include them.

Neither Windows XP nor any other version of Windows has ever come
with Word or Excel, nor with any other significant application
software.

If your previous computer, running an older version of Windows,
came with these, it was because the vendor who sold it bundled
Microsoft Office as part of the package he sold you, not because
that version of Windows came with Office.

If you want these, you need to buy them, either alone or as part
of Microsoft Office.

Yes. Go buy MS Office. Or if you already own it, reinstall. XP or no other
version of Windows has ever included Office.

How can you find applications you *haven't installed*?!

Yes, of course. Take your credit card to the nearest software store, pick up
Office take it to the cash desk, hand over said credit card and take your
purchase home. Open the box, then the jewel case, and put the CD in the CD
drive. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Greetings --

Go to the store and buy any such applications that you want/need.

Neither the Microsoft Office application suite, nor any of its
individual component applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook, etc.), have _ever_ been "part" of *any* Windows operating
system. They are, and always have been, separate applications, that
must be purchased and installed separately.

I see every one jumped the gun and told him to go to the
store ("buy buy buy") did anyone stop to ask if it was an
upgrade that he did.
Did u do an upgrade or a full install

Well, if he did an upgrade correctly, and his previous setup included those
office programs, they would still be there. If he did a clean install, and
his previous setup included those office programs, he would have to
re-install them (that is, if he has the original CDs).

So, since he doesn't see those programs now, either he never had them in the
first place, or he will have to re-install them from the original CDs.

Frankly I have very little sympathy with those who do not know what software
they have or do not have.
