word error mess.

when i try to open word i get "an error has occured and must shut down word
i have tried office detect and repair which did not wor
it also happens in word pad

Hi tom,

Try going to Start > Run and type 'winword /a' (without the quotation
marks and note the space between the d and the forward slash)

Does Word run OK now?

Search your C drive for a file named "normal.dot". Delete it. This should fix it.
