Word Document count increase

I am using Word 2000 as my e-mail editor with Outlook
2000. The document count in Word increases each time I
open mail in Outlook. How do I stop the document increase
from going up. At the end of the day I end up with up to
100 documents showing open in Word - even though there are
no documents open.

When you say 'showing open' -- showing where? On Word's Window menu?

Or do you mean that the document's name is showing as 'Document 100' ...
that's simply Word creating a unique name for each document created during
the session; other than shutting down and restarting, there's nothing you
can do about it. Why does it matter?
