word doc

I have a word doc which when opened opens a custom tool
bar and inhibits all other toolbars. There is no vb code
to activate this.

Any ideas on how this is done and how can I get round it.

Sounds like it must be VB, however. What's your macro
security setting (Tools/Macros/Security), and what are the
settings of the "Trust" checkboxes in the second tab? Which
version of Word do you have?

If you hold SHIFT while opening the document do you get
different behavior?
