Word couldn't send mail because of MAPI failure

Word couldn't send mail because of MAPI failure: "Operation not supported".
I get this error whenever I try to send an attachment from inside an
application (like Word 2007) with Outlook 2007 open. If I close Outlook
2007, I can then send the attachment from inside the application (like Work
2007).
 
Has a resolution for this issue been found? I am having this issue right now
it's driving me insane.

With outlook closed, Word can send email fine and also my explorer -> Send
To -> Mail recipient works too.

With outlook open, Word throws the MAPI error you mentioned: Operation not
supported. My explorer -> Send To -> Mail recipient does nothing. No error.
Nothing happens.

This is really irritating. I originally had problems with my system due to
me having the Exchange System Manager tools installed to manage Active
Directory User Mailboxes. Without exchange tools, my system worked fine. So
I uninstalled them.

Now, for some reason it just decided to STOP working yet again and now I
can't figure out what it is!

I've tried FixMapi.exe (nothing)
I've tried Office Diagnostics (nothing found/repaired)
I've tried add/remove -> Repair office (still no fix)

I'm at my wits end with this office product.

I'm having the the same problem sending email attachment with my new 'puter
in Word (among other things). I've spoken twice with Dell help (Phillipines)
& through two sessions (One for 2 hours!), I'm no better off. They promise to
contact me again tonight with the solution. If this happens, I'll repost.
 
I have just started with this problem and have tried everything in posts with
No Joy. Did you ever get a fix? I am also running on a Dell with Office 2003.
