One Option: Use the Windows Character Map (in your Accessories or
Accessories>System Tools folder) where you'll find that many fonts include
fraction characters that are simply not converted by Word's AutoFormat As
You Type feature. Copy what you need into your doc. You can also set them up
as AutoCorrect entries if you use them frequently.
What is also well documented in that article is the use of additional
fraction characters from the default paragraph font, and the suggestion is
made that they be saved as AutoCorrect entries. In fact, that is how the
article begins, long before it tells how "build your own." I suggest you
revisit the article!
