Must I own Word 2003 in order to generate a letter from Outlook 2003? Or is there a patch or something to allow me to do this?>

If you want to use Word as your email editor, the versions must match.
Otherwise, you are restricted to using the native Outlook editor. It has
always been this way and the only patch is a trip to the retailer to
purchase a version of Office 2003 or just Word 2003.

Well, not exactly. Outlook 2000 would use Office 97's Word as well.
