I've yet to put this package in on any machines--I will probably do some of
that today.
Your issue sounds like the typical Windows Installer issue that we've seen
throughout this beta, though. Here are things to try:
1) try the other suggestion in this thread--successfully getting the SP2
package installed should fix this.
2) If the SP2 package is listed in add or remove programs, remove it--you
may need to hit the checkbox to "show Updates" to see it in the list--not
sure.
3) If neither of those works, get the Windows Installer Cleanup utility:

install it, and look for the line relating to Office SP2. Use the tool to
remove the installer information for that service pack.
The best fix for this, when the conflict is a program which 1) you want, and
2) you have media for--is to get the program properly installed. However,
if this proves difficult at the moment, using the cleanup tool should fix
the symptoms.
