word 97 & xp

The spell checker for office 97 will not work on my win xp installation.
This is happening on a few computers none of the users are administrators
other computers it will work just fine . Anyone have any ideas?

Have you installed the patch for Office 97? It's about 25MB in size. You
can find it on the Microsoft Office site or just Google for Office 97 Patch.
This was released about a year after Office 97 itself was available.
