I have a user that is having problems randomly when he first turns on his pc in the morning. Word will take several minutes sometimes to open. I have already reloaded office. We use Norton Corp Edition and there is not office plug in option to shut off. I don't think its that because it is random. One day it works, the next day it does not.
This pc uses AOL, and MS Project. User has had to reboot several times to get Word to open properly.
Any thoughts.
Thanks.

Does the computer have sufficient RAM to run Word and Windows 2000, remember
memory with Windows 2000 improves performance. Also, what type of user
account does the user have, is it a Administrator or Limited User Account. I
have noticed that Word tends to run much faster under a limited account,
because Windows 2000 does not load a lot of Services for such an Account.
Also kill any unnecessary process you are not using.
More memory usually helps.

User has plenty of memory - 256mb. Account is setup to be Administrator. I really don't think its a memory issue since it only happens one in four times he boots his notebook. He is attempting to open word first since he has started having this problem. No other programs are running except Norton on a fresh boot.
Thanks for the input.
