Hello all, I am in a dilemma,
I live with 2 teenage boys, both of whom are studying the same course at
middle school, they save their work in their own default mydocuments folders
that were created when their users were made. But they can browse in word to
the other's folder. The elder now has the habit of inserting words and
pictures in the younger's homework. is there any way in word to lock the
browser window to root at \windows\profiles\danny\my documents for danny and
of course david's for david so they cant browse above it to change the other's
homework.

This is really a Windows question, but I believe it is possible to
password-protect the specific folders. Indeed, unless you have given all
users administrative rights, I'm surprised that they are able to access each
other's My Documents folders.

As Suzanne suggests, this is a Windows question. Since Windows 2000, the OS
is user-centric. When you create a new user, you need to assign what type of
user they will be. I guess that you have created accounts for your boys and
both have Admin privileges. You need to go to the Control Panel and select
Users Accounts. Select each in turn and change them from Administrator to
Limited. Then they will only be able to see their own MyDocuments and
folders that are specifically setup for sharing. Make sure that you password
all the accounts so each user has to log in and type in their own password
(or it defeats the purpose!).
