I have Win7 and Word 7

I am learning Word 7 on the internet. How can I delete an individual item
from 'Recent Documents'? I know how to reduce them from 17 to 0. The
following from Google does not work for me.

To remove a single item from the Recent Documents list, follow these steps:

1.Press Ctrl+Alt+-. (Use the dash on the upper row of the keyboard, not the
one on the numeric keypad.) The mouse pointer changes to a horizontal line.
2.Click the Office button.
3.In the Recent Documents list, click the document you want to clear.

Thanks.

Assuming you mean Word 2007 (Word 7 is Word for Windows 95), there is no
direct way to remove individual items. The instructions you read are for
Word 2003 and earlier, and in Word 2010 there is a right-click option for
removing individual files, but in Word 2007, you will require the Recently
Used File List Editor add-in from
http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/word_tip_pages/recently_used_file_list_editor_addin.html.

Sue.,

That is a clever little piece of work. I struggled with it a little at
first, but eventually I got there and it worked perfectly.

Thanks a lot.
