I am a writer using a lot of proper names that the spellcheck, of course,
rejects. If I choose "Ignore all" the name is accepted, which is fine, but
if I close the document that instruction is forgotten. Is there any way I
can get Spelcheck to remember to ignore that name the next time I open the
document?

Don't tell it to Ignore the name, tell it to add that name to your personal dictionary.

You should really post this in the Word newsgroup...but the answer to
your question would be to choose "add to dictionary" instead of "ignore
all."

Tim

Since you said "ignore", that's the behaviour you're going to get; if you
"add to dictionary" the words/spelling should be there next time.
