I have noticed that whenever I insert an Index marker, I see the code
{ XW "the word" } displayed spelled out in full whenever I select
showing the special characters, like the paragraph marks and the
tabs. This can throw me off when I am trying to format spaces between
lines of text and tables and pictures and the ends of pages by
manipulating the size in points of paragraph marks. Is there any way I
can selectively ask it not to show these codes when I otherwise select
displaying the special characters?

The Show/Hide ¶ button toggles between displaying ALL nonprinting characters
and displaying just those you have selected. So, in order to see the
selected NPC without Hidden text, you must check them in Office Button |
Display. While you have this setup enabled, you won't be able to hide all
the NPC by clicking on the button, just toggle between seeing them all and
seeing all but Hidden text.

I see what you mean, thanx. Now I have to make some macros to toggle
on and off just the paragraph marks and the space dots while keeping
the rest hidden. (No, I don't need help on that.)
