Word 2003

I'm having trouble with Word 2003. When I click on the desktop shortcut to
open the program, it takes what seems like a very long time to open. Then,
when I want to close the program, it takes a very long time to actually
close. Sometimes, when closing, I get an error message that the program is
not responding. I click on end program, send the automatic error report to
Microsoft, and the program finally closes. This error report has been sent
to Microsoft about a hundred times. Today I reinstalled Office Basic 2003
from the original CD, but the problem persists. Any suggestions?

printer driver and disconnect any mapped drives to locations that are not
available.
