I am working on a sub-contract using Office 2003 -- Word 2003.

I have loaded Office 2003, and sent my license serial number to Microsoft over the internet.

The sub-contract that I am working on reqires that I change the author information to my client's name, which I have done.
However, if I update the document, then my name appears on the Statistics page of the properties dialog box, and it says, "Last Updated by: Linda Hewitt

Is there anyway for the updated field to read "Jane Doe" best case or worse case to be blank? IMO, this field should not be controlled "absolutely" by the licensee's name

Thanks

Lind

Hi Linda

When Word creates a document it records the author as whatever is listed
at Tools > Options > User Information.

When Word updates (ie re-saves) a document, it records the "last saved
by" information as whatever is listed at Tools > Options > User
Information.

So, you can control both at Tools > Options > User Information. You can
leave both boxes in that dialog box blank, but Word will insert
"default" in them. You can, however, simply press spacebar and save your
name as " ".

However, you can also ensure that none of this information is saved.
Tools > Options > Security. Tick the box for "Remove personal
information from file properties on save". Both Author and Last Saved By
names are then deleted.

Hope this helps.

I believe this is controlled by Tools>Options>User Information>Name

Set it to blank or whatever you wish.
