Word 2003 hyperlink not displaying full address

Hello-

Having an issue with Word 2003. Where when I insert a
hyperlink to a file on a network share server, just gives
the drive letter that I have that share mapped to you.
But when I move this link or send this link to someone
else, will not work with the drive letter. I need it to
display the servername/sharename.
Right now looks like this:
P:\chat\december\1205.doc
instead i need it to say
\\dchic001pn1\_hajdukap$\chat\december\1205.doc
where its the server name and share name substituted
for 'p'

I cannot find anything on how to do this, besides
manuelly typing in the path.
This works in word 2000 with no issues.

Copy, paste the UNC or map the UNC without the drive letter.
