I've had a look at various posts on this subject, but none that has a fix to
my problem.
I have a 40 page Word 2002 document that uses cross references to headings
inserted via Insert > Reference > Cross Reference.
Mysteriously, about 20 of the cross references suddenly went wrong on
opening the document at one point (the previous version is fine) and have
been replaced with the
"Error! Reference source not found" message.
Is there any way to fix the broken cross references? Is this just a Word
bug? Should I not use cross references in this way? Does Open Office give
better support to cross referencing?
This is incredibly frustrating as the document urgently needs to be
submitted and I'm worried that if I put cross references in manually,
they'll end up being incorrect after revisions are made, but if I use Word
cross references they'll go wrong!
