For several months Word 2000 (part of OP 2000) crashes during the first
session with it each day (or boot up). What seems to trigger it most
often, if not alone, is a Cntl-X delete. I recall running repair awhile
back, but that didn't solve it. Operating system is XP Home. Any
suggestions (other than saving a lot)?

If this happens first session every day, it suggests that you have a
hardware problem and after the computer has really warmed up it resolves
itself.

I'd open it up and remove and reseat all the hardware such as Graphics card,
memory, etc., and see if that resolves the problem.

Also, give you hard disk a good clean up after all those crashes.

It started sometime after I changed motherboard, CPU, CD-ROM, and added
a hard drive. Just changed graphics card and reseated the modem the
other day. What I meant by first session of the day is not relative to
computer use, but to Word use. It could be at night and the computer
having been on for 12 hours. I recall it happening more than once a day,
but am not sure if there was a reboot in between or not. Something to
watch for. Thanks,

Gene
