I felt a real affection at 43 years old for woolworths and having visited my nearest store today wanted to know what other people felt..

got loads of bargains..

In 10 words or less sum it up
Mine are ...Big Store,Diversity,Cd`s, Games, and Pick and mix :)

such a real shame .. yours are ??

No ! It's exactly Marks and Sparks. It's always been good value for clothes and shoes when I've been there. :nod:

So the fact that the knock on effect has put Zavvi (formerly Virgin Megastore) in trouble.
They bought from entertaiment uk which is part of the soon defunct woolies is a good thing then????

i know that whenever a business goes to that wall, there is always a knock on effect to suppliers...woolies is an outdated store....It's the unfortunate law of supply and demand, and my heart goes out to the thousands of emplyees who worked at both zavvi and woolies
 
The other big looser in this is Ladybird who made a lot of the clothes Woolworth's sold.
Ladybird & Entertainment UK may be assets that can be sold on to a new buyer?
Expect other 'big' names to go bust over the next few months/year!!
 
Well just had breaking news that Adams is another casualty that is going into administration with the loss of up to 2000 jobs..
 
Y'all still believe that five year warranty you received with your shiny new purchase? ;)
 
Local Woolworths selling cages, box's & in fact anything in the shop is for sale.
You want it then they will tell you how much!!!
Very sad!!
 
I got into a discussion with the local store manager and he said we have to sell everything at whatever price ..just so we can at least guarantee getting paid next week..:(
