Won't stay on

I leave my laptop notebook on all day, turning it off
only when I sleep. Occasionaly, however, my machine will
automatically shut off with no warning. This has happened
on numerous occasions. I will be sitting at my computer,
somtimes in the middle of a program, and suddenly the
notebook just turns itself off. Why does this happen? And
what can I do to keep it from happening again?

Check your settings in the Power Options applet of Control Panel. If they
are the way you want them, and your laptop is virus free, you might suspect
a hardware problem and contact the laptop vendor.
