Won't Save D: Drive Scan Settings?

Anyone experiencing this problem? I have two (2)
partitions on my hard drive. I want it to scan both. But
even though I check off both C and D, and also
the "remember" box, it will not save the setting. I
cannot get it to run the automated scan on D; it scans D
only if I do it manually. Every time I open the app it
has defaulted to scan only C.

Where does it save the settings data?

Click on AntiSpyware.
On the opening screen there is a link to "Run Quick Scan
Now." Just below it in very small print it says "Scan
options." Click on scan options, which will cause a new
screen to open.

On that new screen there will be a choice for running an
intelligent quick scan or a full system scan. Within the
full scan option you may check "Scan selected
drives/folders," and, within that, by clicking where it
says "select drives" (next to the little icon) you will
be taken to another screen where you can select the
drives and/or folders you want to scan.

In the lower left corner of the scan options screen there
is a checkoff to "save these options." It will NOT save
those options for me even if I do run the full system
scan and even if it does scan both the C and D drives.
Next time I want to run a scan it reverts just to C.

I noticed the same thing. I am beginning to think that Microsoft really
doesn't care to do this program properly. It won't remember setting and can
not update properly. You have to do it all manually if you want it.. Not the
thing to do for a program that is suppose to run in the background and keep
you safe !

I've got it scanning c, d, and e on my machine--so I know it can do this.

The symptom of the program not remembering specific user-chosen settings is
not uncommon here. I think that I'd recommend an update install as a first
attempt to fix:

start, control panel, add or remove programs, Microsoft Antispyware, Change,
then Update.

This won't (contrary to what it says) take you from an older build to a
newer build--so if you are not already on build .614, do that instead, via
the download center:

I tried that; it did not solve the problem. And I already
was on build .614. In fact, I only recently installed the
thing, hoping that by delaying a bit I might avoid the
worst of the problems. Alas........

I did not yet try a complete uninstall and then a
reinstall. Perhaps that might do it.

OK - Don't just do a simple uninstall/reinstall.

Uninstall, then delete the installation directory and all subdirectories.
(typically c:\program files\microsoft antispyware.)

For good measure, you may want to get rid of
\windows\system32\gcUnCompress.dll as well.

Then reinstall.

You will lose all customized settings, anything in quarantine, etc.
