You did not state which HP printer you are haveing
trouble with. I am having the same trouble with a hp psc
1210xi all-in-one. There is a website that walks you
through a possible fix.

Steps 11 & 12 instruct me to check two boxes. When I do
this an press the Apply button the check box in step 12
uncheckes itself. Why does it do this, and if I can find
a way to make it stay checked, will it solve my error
problem???

I have tried numerous time installing/reinstalling my 3-
in-1 HP printer and I know it works because I am able to
make copies and scan pages. However, my labtop will not
accept it as a printer. When I go to control panel,
computers and faxes, I am unable to choose the selection
that is "add a printer". It will not allow me to click
on it so I am unable to print anything. Please help me
and perhaps I need to reset my USB ports and how would i
do this?
